About Us
Connecting Home Ltd was registered on the 17th March 2010. This organisation has been established in response to the recommendations arising from the Stolen Generations Taskforce Report of April 2003 commissioned by the Victorian Government. The Taskforce identified the need for an independent, community controlled Stolen Generations Organisation for Victoria.
We have established a number of programs that are designed to directly support people affected by the Government's past policies of forceable removal. Our Healing and Case Management programs will support people utilising person-centred practice, and will also support people individually as well as facilitate group activities.
An important role of Connecting Home is to facilitate sector development through working closely with the Bringing Them Home and Link-Up programs. We believe that our role is to augment the existing service system through identifying the gaps and ensuring that we develop an appropriate response in both the Indigenous and Mainstream community service systems to ensure that people receive the support they require and want.
Connecting Home Ltd operates very successful Education programs designed to influence mainstream secondary school curriculum development, as well as educating the broader community including mainstream community agencies and government bodies. Part of our education role is informing government debate and policy development.
